I have three updates to my current webcomic catch-up, Legostar Galactica.
Firstly, I forgot one Wednesday (I think the 2nd Wednesday) this month that that was my major catch-up day. So, that's got me off by one year.
Secondly, I realized that an entire year of catching up on a webcomic that posts daily is a lot of reading. Well, I knew that it would be a lot, but it's extremely time-consuming. I'm instead doing 3 months at a time, but doing multiple days per week. While 4 days would keep me on course, 3 days seems to be where I'm usually falling.
Thirdly, as I'm caught up to early 2015, it appears that the artist has stopped the separate arc that was running on Saturdays, which should at least make each quarter less time-consuming. I'm still doing quarters, though, for the sake of keeping track.
I hope to get fully caught up by the end of next week, so that I can just add this one to my dailies and hit the next comic for large-scale catch-up.

Video Game Update: Heroes of the Storm
In the evening, I tend to have a bit of fun by playing a video game or two. My main jam lately has been Heroes of the Storm. I think that it's the sheer variety of playable characters that keep me coming back. Of course, whatever the new hotness is, it's in the free to play rotation in a few weeks, so I can always try it out and see what I like. In terms of the most recent heroes, Ana and Junkrat were OK, Alexstrasza was quite fun, and Hanzo was pretty fun. I might actually spend part of my horde of in-game gold on Alexstrasza, actually. I am, however, itching to see Blaze come into rotation so that I can give him a real try. (I've always found the try-a-hero single-lane artificial match inadequate, so I don't bother with it.)
Speaking of Heroes of the Storm, I'll probably be pushing these next two weekends to grind out Team League matches, just to get the guaranteed rewards.

The Great Webcomic Catch-Up: Legostar Strategy
So, I devised a new strategy today, for helping to catch up with webcomics. I'll bring back the idea of making Wednesday into Webcomic Wednesday, where I put forth greater effort into getting caught up. To that end, starting tonight, each Wednesday, I'll catch up on 1 year of Legostar Galactica. That means catching up on 2013 tonight, which should get me through the end of 2017 by the end of February.
I'm not guaranteeing that this is how I'll do it for every comic. Since Legostar is a daily, I might be able to do more at a time with webcomics that updated less frequently. On the other hand, if this is too difficult, then I might have to scale it back for the next webcomic.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update January 2018
I've been staying caught up on all of the webcomics that I mentioned last month. Unfortunately, I haven't done much catching up on Legostar Galactica, so I'm not making additional progress, but at least I'm staying caught up. I'll push to catch up on Legostar in February.

New Year's Resolutions 2018
- Write 3 blog posts each month: 2017 required me to hit the big reset button on this one.
- Add at least 1 webcomic to the caught-up webcomics list each month: This should help make sure that I burn through archives at a reasonable rate. January is going to be Legostar Galactica month, it seems. ;)
- Finish 4 books this year: I keep forgetting that this is a resolution. It's just something that I want to do. 4 seems low, but I'm having trouble keeping myself organized, and I'm hoping to fix that this year, and then go back to reading a lot.
Life Update December 2017
This isn't going to be much of a post, but I figured that I should post a general update, since I basically didn't blog at all from May to November.
Basically, some major personal stuff happened back in May, and I forgot all about the blog. By the time that I remembered it, though, I was also doing some major re-arranging in my life, and it was a low priority. I've also been trying to restore the little things in my life. (That's also why I've been working on my webcomic catch-up.)
I did make a point to tweet occasionally, hopefully to avoid scaring anyone too badly once I realized that I'd been neglecting my web presence.
I'll have one more post tonight, that being one for my 2018 resolutions.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update December 2017
OK, I've had to re-work my webcomic catch up. I don't remember whether I mentioned it here or not, but I realized that this is the only way to make this practical. Basically, every day, I'll read my caught-up comics, no matter what. I know that I'll only occasionally be able to work my way through an archive, but I don't want to fall behind on whatever I've already done. This should also be nice for me, since I miss the old days, when I read my webcomics daily.
I'm caught up on the following webcomics:
The next one in queue is Legostar Galactica, which is going to be rough, since it updated almost daily when I was reading it.

- xkcd
- Little Vampires

Life Update March/April 2017
OK, I want to write this to let you all know that March and April were swamped for me due to some major undertakings over at Real Life Job. I ended up deciding to just skip March's blogging, but that went over into April, too. Things are clearing up now, though, so I should be able to do 3 posts per month for May forward. I might try to make up the posts that I skipped, but probably not, unless I end up with lots of free time somehow.
This also means that I made literally 0 progress on the great webcomic catch-up of 2016-2017 these past 2 months.

Sudden Short Story 114
"Well, this is a unique sight," he said to her, as the oldest man alive entered the zone. "It's Old Blue-Sclera! To what do we owe the presence?" he asked of the old man. For all of the youth-preserving and longevity technology, somewhere in the mix, human sclera ended up changing from white, to yellow, to green with age, though they almost always remained white for the first 200 years. In this way, they were a rough gauge of age when all else failed, though age could usually be found via a meeting of the minds, anyway.
"You know," the old man - who looked to be the same age as anyone else - said, "what strikes most people as odd is my existence, but what strikes me as odd is my uniqueness. Tell me, do you think that yours will ever become green?"
"Oh, I doubt that," replied the woman in her partner's place, "I can feel him getting bored with life as the weeks go by. He probably won't last another thirty years."
"As always, I wish that I could help," replied the old man, "but I never did know why I was different." With that, he took his leave to go across the way, meeting with a woman who was only 185 years old.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update: February 2017
I have done 0 webcomic reading this month. February kind of flew by. Also, Legostar Galactica is the next one on my catch-up list, and it's been posting 7 days per week for the last 4 years, so that's a lot of reading to do. Thankfully, though, tomorrow is Wednesday, and I'm considering making Wednesdays be Webcomic Wednesdays for now, as a way to hasten my catching-up. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
Video Game Update February 2017
Well, I totally forgot about Civilization V this month. It's weird, because I even said that exact same thing at the end of last month. Oh, well. Also, while I didn't really touch Minecraft all of this month, but I did add the Twilight Forest mod to my world, since there's a version of it for the version of Minecraft that I've been using for Thaumcraft. I'm hoping to play enough to make a full Minecraft post in March.
Otherwise, I've just spent the occasional evening time playing Overwatch, Hearthstone, or Heroes of the Storm.

Life Update January 2017
Well, I already forgot to post by the 14th. I remembered right afterward, which was a bit too late, but I'll still try to remember going forward. February shouldn't be a problem, though, since I'm planning to post on my Minecraft blog soon. I've also got some books queued up, but February isn't looking like a good month to get started. I'll see.
Video Game Update January 2017
Well, I totally forgot about Civilization V this month. I started doing a little bit of Minecraft again last week. I do like doing the stuff on my SSP world, but it's less of a fun thing and more of a relaxing thing, which is what I've needed. I'm hoping to make a Minecraft post early in February, probably next week some time.
I've been playing Heroes of the Storm lately, since there's a special event for the Year of the Rooster, and doing a bit of Overwatch still, but there are only so many hours in the day, so Minecraft took a bit from that.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update: January 2017
The Maq#041 archive was actually not a long read, but sadly the comic seems to have stopped updating in November of 2015. I've just started the Legostar Galactica catch-up, which will be tough, since it updated 7 days per week and I'm assuming that it kept up the pace over the past 3 years. I'll be lucky to be all the way through it by the end of February.

New Year's Resolutions 2017
- Write 3 blog posts each month: I'm sticking with 3 this year, since it was a struggle just to keep to that many last year.
- Finish 6 books this year: I actually totally forgot that I'd even made a book-related resolution last year, until just now when I checked.
- Do at least 1 blog post on or before the 14th of each month: This was actually a really good idea from last year that I also totally forgot.
The Great Webcomic Catch-Up: December 2016 Update
So, I made basically 0 progress on the Maq#041 archive, meaning that I've made basically 0 progress on the great webcomic catch-up this month. That's not entirely surprising, given how the month's gone.
I'm also considering re-working how I'm scheduling the catch-up. I'm considering staying caught up with those comics that I've done already, and then treating the rest the way that I did whenever I add a webcomic to the list: Read the archive (though, in this case, not the full archive), then include it in my daily checks. I'm not sure yet, though. I'll let you all know.

Life Update December 2016
So, life's been pretty crazy in December, which is pretty normal, given the holidays involved. I can hardly believe that it's the 31st already, but I'm still going to hammer out the other posts tonight. I've also got a couple of short story notes floating around somewhere, so I should be able to give some sudden short stories in January. Here's hoping for a better 2017.
Video Game Update December 2016
Well, video games have been a little weird for me this month. I ended up playing Heroes of the Storm again, primarily to unlock the Oni skin for Genji in Overwatch, but with the nice side effect of also unlocking Zarya in Heroes of the Storm. I see that they're in a new competitive season, so I might go get ranked in that.
I think that I'll be finishing my Civ 5 game in the 1st 2 weeks of January.

Life Update November 2016
So, here's the short version of how things went. Basically, the bad stuff from September & October pushed back some important stuff to November, so all of this month has been catch-up in real life. And, unfortunately, December is coming in less than an hour, which means that, after I finish catching up on real-life stuff, I've got to do Xmas stuff. Per my other update, I'll also be pushing to catch up on webcomics. Per an older update, I'll also try to write some extra posts in December to make up for shortages. That's it for now, though.
Webcomic Catch-Up Update: November 2016
Once again, real life got in the way this month, though in a different way. I managed to finish off the Real Life Comics archive, up to and including December 10th, 2015, which is the last known episode. I'm working on catching up on my reading of Maq #041, but I don't even remember what was going on at all, so there's going to be some overlap again.
I'm definitely going to take a more thorough dive into the old webcomic pile in December and January. I want to be able to finish catching up in February, or maybe March, so that I can then do a new catch-up right after that and then finally get to the point where I just read the webcomics every night - and actually remember what's going on in the ones where that's relevant. That, after all, is the overall goal of this: to get back to the point where I've got the routine relaxation every night of reading my webcomics.
