Video Game Update: Heroes of the Storm

In the evening, I tend to have a bit of fun by playing a video game or two.  My main jam lately has been Heroes of the Storm.  I think that it's the sheer variety of playable characters that keep me coming back.  Of course, whatever the new hotness is, it's in the free to play rotation in a few weeks, so I can always try it out and see what I like.  In terms of the most recent heroes, Ana and Junkrat were OK, Alexstrasza was quite fun, and Hanzo was pretty fun.  I might actually spend part of my horde of in-game gold on Alexstrasza, actually.  I am, however, itching to see Blaze come into rotation so that I can give him a real try.  (I've always found the try-a-hero single-lane artificial match inadequate, so I don't bother with it.) 
Speaking of Heroes of the Storm, I'll probably be pushing these next two weekends to grind out Team League matches, just to get the guaranteed rewards. 

Video Game Update February 2017

Well, I totally forgot about Civilization V this month.  It's weird, because I even said that exact same thing at the end of last month.  Oh, well.  Also, while I didn't really touch Minecraft all of this month, but I did add the Twilight Forest mod to my world, since there's a version of it for the version of Minecraft that I've been using for Thaumcraft.  I'm hoping to play enough to make a full Minecraft post in March. 
Otherwise, I've just spent the occasional evening time playing Overwatch, Hearthstone, or Heroes of the Storm. 

Video Game Update December 2016

Well, video games have been a little weird for me this month.  I ended up playing Heroes of the Storm again, primarily to unlock the Oni skin for Genji in Overwatch, but with the nice side effect of also unlocking Zarya in Heroes of the Storm.  I see that they're in a new competitive season, so I might go get ranked in that. 
I think that I'll be finishing my Civ 5 game in the 1st 2 weeks of January. 

Video Gaming Changes

It occurs to me that, in the long interval since I last talked about video games here, a lot is different.  I thought that I'd mention something about that, in case anyone cares.
Hearthstone is still my go-to alt+tab option, but I've also found myself playing Heroes of the Storm more than Team Fortress 2.  That said, if I ever get into the Overwatch beta, then that might replace both of those. 
I don't think that I've touched Minecraft in over a year.   I've got nothing against in, but I've got limited time each day, and I don't want to risk getting sucked in like I can so easily do; weekends, when I would have enough time, are when I like to get out of the house, so those are often out, too. 
I've been trying to replay some older games, but I'm surprised at how long sessions of those can be, too.
