New Year's Resolutions 2018

  • Write 3 blog posts each month:  2017 required me to hit the big reset button on this one.
  • Add at least 1 webcomic to the caught-up webcomics list each month:  This should help make sure that I burn through archives at a reasonable rate.  January is going to be Legostar Galactica month, it seems.  ;)
  • Finish 4 books this year:  I keep forgetting that this is a resolution.  It's just something that I want to do.  4 seems low, but I'm having trouble keeping myself organized, and I'm hoping to fix that this year, and then go back to reading a lot.

Life Update December 2017

This isn't going to be much of a post, but I figured that I should post a general update, since I basically didn't blog at all from May to November.
Basically, some major personal stuff happened back in May, and I forgot all about the blog.  By the time that I remembered it, though, I was also doing some major re-arranging in my life, and it was a low priority.  I've also been trying to restore the little things in my life.  (That's also why I've been working on my webcomic catch-up.)
I did make a point to tweet occasionally, hopefully to avoid scaring anyone too badly once I realized that I'd been neglecting my web presence.
I'll have one more post tonight, that being one for my 2018 resolutions.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update December 2017

OK, I've had to re-work my webcomic catch up.  I don't remember whether I mentioned it here or not, but I realized that this is the only way to make this practical.  Basically, every day, I'll read my caught-up comics, no matter what.  I know that I'll only occasionally be able to work my way through an archive, but I don't want to fall behind on whatever I've already done.  This should also be nice for me, since I miss the old days, when I read my webcomics daily.

I'm caught up on the following webcomics:
  • Unspeakable Vault of Doom
  • xkcd
  • Little Vampires
  • Maq #041
I've also moved Picatrix from active to hiatused, since it seems to have disappeared.  I've done the same for Real Life Comics, since it hasn't updated in over 2 years.
The next one in queue is Legostar Galactica, which is going to be rough, since it updated almost daily when I was reading it.

Life Update March/April 2017

OK, I want to write this to let you all know that March and April were swamped for me due to some major undertakings over at Real Life Job.  I ended up deciding to just skip March's blogging, but that went over into April, too.  Things are clearing up now, though, so I should be able to do 3 posts per month for May forward.  I might try to make up the posts that I skipped, but probably not, unless I end up with lots of free time somehow.
This also means that I made literally 0 progress on the great webcomic catch-up of 2016-2017 these past 2 months.

Sudden Short Story 114

"Well, this is a unique sight," he said to her, as the oldest man alive entered the zone.  "It's Old Blue-Sclera!  To what do we owe the presence?" he asked of the old man.  For all of the youth-preserving and longevity technology, somewhere in the mix, human sclera ended up changing from white, to yellow, to green with age, though they almost always remained white for the first 200 years.  In this way, they were a rough gauge of age when all else failed, though age could usually be found via a meeting of the minds, anyway.
"You know," the old man - who looked to be the same age as anyone else - said, "what strikes most people as odd is my existence, but what strikes me as odd is my uniqueness.  Tell me, do you think that yours will ever become green?"
"Oh, I doubt that," replied the woman in her partner's place, "I can feel him getting bored with life as the weeks go by.  He probably won't last another thirty years."
"As always, I wish that I could help," replied the old man, "but I never did know why I was different."  With that, he took his leave to go across the way, meeting with a woman who was only 185 years old.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update: February 2017

I have done 0 webcomic reading this month.  February kind of flew by.  Also, Legostar Galactica is the next one on my catch-up list, and it's been posting 7 days per week for the last 4 years, so that's a lot of reading to do.  Thankfully, though, tomorrow is Wednesday, and I'm considering making Wednesdays be Webcomic Wednesdays for now, as a way to hasten my catching-up.  We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Video Game Update February 2017

Well, I totally forgot about Civilization V this month.  It's weird, because I even said that exact same thing at the end of last month.  Oh, well.  Also, while I didn't really touch Minecraft all of this month, but I did add the Twilight Forest mod to my world, since there's a version of it for the version of Minecraft that I've been using for Thaumcraft.  I'm hoping to play enough to make a full Minecraft post in March.
Otherwise, I've just spent the occasional evening time playing Overwatch, Hearthstone, or Heroes of the Storm.

Life Update January 2017

Well, I already forgot to post by the 14th.  I remembered right afterward, which was a bit too late, but I'll still try to remember going forward.  February shouldn't be a problem, though, since I'm planning to post on my Minecraft blog soon.  I've also got some books queued up, but February isn't looking like a good month to get started.  I'll see.

Video Game Update January 2017

Well, I totally forgot about Civilization V this month.  I started doing a little bit of Minecraft again last week.  I do like doing the stuff on my SSP world, but it's less of a fun thing and more of a relaxing thing, which is what I've needed.  I'm hoping to make a Minecraft post early in February, probably next week some time.
I've been playing Heroes of the Storm lately, since there's a special event for the Year of the Rooster, and doing a bit of Overwatch still, but there are only so many hours in the day, so Minecraft took a bit from that.

Webcomic Catch-Up Update: January 2017

The Maq#041 archive was actually not a long read, but sadly the comic seems to have stopped updating in November of 2015.  I've just started the Legostar Galactica catch-up, which will be tough, since it updated 7 days per week and I'm assuming that it kept up the pace over the past 3 years.  I'll be lucky to be all the way through it by the end of February.
